A new indie label clothing store has just set up shop at 1Borneo Shopping Mall called Distro Republic. Briefly, distro is a short term for the word 'distribution'; regularly used by independent distribution stores which includes publishing of collective zines, music labels and of course, clothing lines. Distro'ers as they call it, don't exhort customers much on getting their greens but basically selling for the fervor of good arts, representing creativity and tunes, indirectly cultivating friendship from all age groups.
How Distro Republic started?
In a trip to Bandung, Indonesia, the owner managed to meet the CEO of Distroland.com to plan for an expansion in Malaysia. After several tight discussions with Distroland.com & two main producers of clothing lines ; Airplane Systm & Invictus, Distro Republic officially opened its 1st outlet on January 2010 in East Malaysia's Biggest Hypermall, 1Borneo. In its clothing store, you can find excellent choices of T-Shirts for both genders, as well as other clothing varieties such as caps, hoodies, bagpacks, wallets etc. Distro Republic also houses independent records from Laguna Music (an indiependent music label featuring SevenCollar T-Shirt, Prana, Estrella & the list goes on). All in all, whether you're looking to get something for yourself or your loved ones, Distro Republic is a clothing store where you will find something that would definitely reflects an individual characteristics, attitudes and tunes - as far as a store can go. Distro Republic seems to grow very well and might possibly rise to be the top of its pack.

AIRPLANE SYSTM is a clothing company formerly known as Airplane Apparel System. AIRPLANE SYSTM initiate efforts to innovate something originally fresh, genuine and limited and is based in Bandung, Indonesia. INVICTUS runs a similar business concept as a clothing label and its design is simple and very conceptuous. Both brands are very affordable with T-Shirts selling starting RM45 onwards.
